If there’s one thing President Trump is good at, it’s making deals.
He literally wrote the book on deals with his bestseller, “Art of the Deal.”
And Trump just made the one deal that Nancy Pelosi thought would never happen.
China is one of President Trump’s biggest enemies.
Fighting bad trade deals with China was one of his top promises while on the campaign trail.
He has been warning of the horrible trade deals with China for many years and vowed to finally enact ones that benefited the United States.
He made it clear he was willing to place harsh tariffs on China in order to achieve that.
And since the start of his term, he’s smacked over $250 billion in tariffs on Chinese goods.
Considering how dependent China is on U.S. trade, this is a massive blow.
And predictably, both the establishment right and left have been losing their minds.
Those on the establishment right whined about “free trade,” ignoring the fact that the tariffs are simply a way to even out an unfair playing field.
And the left are in opposition simply because they hate President Trump and oppose everything he does.
In a recent interview, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked whether she thought Trump would be able to strike deal with China.
She didn’t have much to say about it, but made it clear that she didn’t believe he’d be able to do so.
“No,” Pelosi answered.
“Let me just say that first of all, I never believed that the Chinese were going to honor what they said they were going to do. … In any trade agreement if you don’t have enforcement, all you’re having is a conversation, a cup of tea.”
But as it appears, Nancy Pelosi is likely wrong yet again.
During the recent G-20 Summit, President Trump made strong inroads with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The two had an 80-minute meeting, which Trump said “went great” and that trade deals are “right back on track.”
And it isn’t just Trump saying this.
China’s Xinhua News Agency also said the two nations agreed to restart trade talks on the basis of “equality and mutual respect.”
This is huge for President Trump.
China had refused to resume talks unless Trump lifted the tariffs he put in place.
So, with China coming to the table despite the tariffs still in place, it proves that Trump’s strategy is working.
This is yet another example of President Trump winning in spite of his dissenters saying he would fail.
Another example is Trump’s negotiations with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
After taking office, Trump spent the first year ruthlessly attacking him, even going so far as to call him “little rocket man.”
But since then, the two have become close, with Kim even allowing Trump to be the first sitting U.S. President to step foot on North Korean soil.
Currently, the prospect of peace in Korea is at an all-time high—and all thanks to President Trump.
