Nancy Pelosi has spent the past year working overtime to stall, sabotage, and stop President Trump.
She’s failed at every turn.
With the tables finally turning, however, Pelosi is now caught playing defense after Trump gave her an ultimatum that left jaws on the floor.
Nancy Pelosi thought her return as Speaker of the House of Representatives would mark a turning point in the Democrats’ war against President Donald Trump.
She was supposed to lead the charge against the President, taking him down and possibly even impeaching him, all while destroying his agenda to make America great again.
Instead, Pelosi has spent the past year struggling to stop the President and coming up short time and again.
With the President scoring massive victories at the Supreme Court, in the polls, and in the latest congressional battles that have been raging in Washington, Pelosi has decided to make her stand on the issue of immigration.
With Democrats all but demanding open borders and amnesty and citizenship for every illegal immigrant that enters the United States, Pelosi has chosen to fight the President on an issue she can’t possibly hope to win.
And Trump knows it.
That’s why the President just dropped an ultimatum on Pelosi that will leave her in ruins.
“Lawmakers are stumbling in their efforts to address the border crisis before bolting for the holiday recess, dimming long-shot hopes that Congress can meet President Donald Trump’s two-week deadline to stave off his threatened mass deportations,” reports Politico.
This all started after the President announced plans to implement a nationwide strategy to deport illegal immigrants at record speed.
And almost immediately after the plans were announced, Democrats lost their minds.
But rather than taking the fight to President Trump, his ultimatum has prompted a civil war within the Democratic Party.
“House Democratic leaders spent Monday night fighting off a last-minute liberal rebellion to tank their $4.5 billion emergency spending package, with progressive lawmakers demanding changes to the bill that complicate the chamber’s plans to deliver money to the border before leaving town Thursday for a week-long recess,” adds Politico.
“In the meeting, Pelosi made the case that if Democrats failed to pass this, they could get jammed with the Senate’s much less desirable version, according to sources in the room.”
Pelosi knows that she has very little room to bargain.
But her caucus is still demanding she fight the President on a losing battle that could leave them exposed in 2020.
The move comes at a time when Republicans are getting behind the President’s attempts to end illegal immigration once and for all.
“If it brings Democrats to the table I think that’s a pretty shrewd move,” said top Republican Senator John Cornyn. “They seem to be totally impervious to any sort of persuasion or pressure, but I think it’s worth a try. At least he will have demonstrated his good faith.”
With the clock ticking down, Pelosi has to choose between caving to the President’s demands, or standing by and watching ICE deport record numbers of illegal aliens.
