President Trump is destroying Obama’s awful legacy piece by piece.
And now, Obama’s crown jewel is about to get shattered for good.
What Trump just did could ruin Obama’s life forever.
President Trump was elected to office back in 2016 on a campaign to take America in a different direction than the one Barack Obama had been taking it down for the previous eight years.
And he’s worked tirelessly to do just that.
Now, just over two years after taking office, Trump has wiped away much of Barack Obama’s legacy from his time in office.
But there’s still one key aspect that remains.
Obamacare itself, which is probably the most important – and most destructive – aspect of Barack Obama’s time in office, is still on the books.
But that may finally be changing.
Bloomberg reports, “The Trump administration is siding with Obamacare opponents who argue that it is unconstitutional and should be scrapped entirely, initiating a new, more aggressive assault on the health care law that will assure the issue will be squarely at the forefront of the 2020 presidential campaign.”
If Obamacare were to ever fall apart, that would signal the greatest defeat for Barack Obama in history.
Obama built his career and his legacy upon Obamacare.
And so far, that remains the only key aspect of his term in office that President Trump hasn’t been able to substantially touch.
This was in part because of several RINO Republicans who betrayed Americans across the country in 2017 when they voted with the Democrats to keep Obamacare intact.
But a new battle being fought in the legal system could change all of that.
“The Justice Department shifted its stance, after arguing last year that some parts of the 2010 law — but not all of it — should be struck down in a case brought by the state of Texas. A federal district judge voided the law in a December ruling that is now under appeal,” adds Bloomberg.
The Justice Department has now thrown all of its weight and power behind the new push to throw Obamacare into the dustbin of history.
“The Department of Justice has determined that the district court’s comprehensive opinion came to the correct conclusion and will support it on appeal,” Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said in a statement.
This comes as a huge shift, as the Justice Department had not previously backed efforts to eliminate Obamacare.
But as it becomes more and more clear that a new legal battle is beginning to heat up over the future of the law, the effort to destroy Obamacare appears to be re-emerging once more.
If Obamacare is struck down, it would be a devastating blow to Obama’s legacy, as well as Democrats across the country.
It would also give a serious boost to President Trump’s re-election prospects heading into the 2020 elections.
Do you think that Obamacare should be struck down by the courts?
