The NFL’s anti-American anthem protests continue to leave the league reeling.
Ratings are down and fans are fed up with spoiled millionaires putting their hatred for America on display.
Now Donald Trump just said three words that mean very bad news for the league and protesters.
Trump continued to defend the flag, the anthem, and patriotism over the disrespectful and anti-military displays put on by NFL players each week.
But he took his defense to a whole new level when he threatened to hit the NFL where it hurt.
Trump tweeted that Congress should “change the tax law” to eliminate the tax-payer giveaways the league receives.
Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem, Flag and Country? Change tax law!

Studies have shown that the NFL has raked in billions in tax payer funds over the years.
The Daily Signal reports:
“One report on Watchdog.org said that over the past two decades, the NFL has raked in about $7 billion of taxpayer money to spend on stadium renovation and building.
Another study from the Brookings Institution showed that federal taxpayers have subsidized the construction of 36 stadiums at a cost of over $3.2 billion since 2000.
Michael Sargent, an infrastructure expert at The Heritage Foundation, wrote about how sports teams use specially crafted tax breaks to get the public to finance their massive projects.
“Tax-exempt municipal bonds are typically reserved for public-use projects such as bridges, water systems, and other infrastructure,” Sargent wrote for The Daily Signal. “Yet because of a loophole in the tax code, private-use stadiums can take advantage of this tax break, and have done so prolifically.”
Fans are fed up with the anti-American protests.
And some teams are starting to take notice.
The Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins have both announced that their teams will stand for the national anthem.
A big salute to Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, who will BENCH players who disrespect our Flag.”Stand for Anthem or sit for game!”

But not every team is squashing the anti-American protests.
So Trump is proposing a common sense solution.
Do you agree with ending tax-payer giveaways to NFL teams?
