Tucker Carlson is perhaps the most famous of all conservative TV personalities, and it isn’t hard to see why.
Carlson took to the airwaves this week to tear one of Trump’s top challengers to shreds on immigration.
And one top Trump challenger won’t want to leave their house after Tucker Carlson just destroyed them on national TV.
Tucker Carlson has a habit of embarrassing liberals on live television.
The conservative TV personality is well-known for his wit, humor, and ability to dissect nearly every argument Democrats throw at President Trump.
And this time, he took aim at one of Trump’s top critics, with devastating effect.
In an op-ed on Fox News, Carlson destroyed the arguments former Texas Congressman Robert “Beto” O’Rourke put up against securing the border and building a wall.
O’Rourke is perhaps best known for losing to Ted Cruz in last year’s senatorial election in Texas. He’s since been rumored as a top-tier presidential candidate in the upcoming Democratic primaries.
Carlson systematically tore O’Rourke’s positions on immigration apart, bit by bit.
O’Rourke recently made a comment comparing President Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico to that of the Berlin Wall.
He’s also tried to connect President Trump’s immigration proposals with the treatment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.
Carlson was having none of it.
“Walls are bad, O’Rourke explained, not just because they intern perfectly decent Japanese people, but because they literally commit murder. Or, rather, we commit murder when we build walls.” Carlson writes.
Carlson then goes into how ridiculous this sounds, and how illogical O’Rourke’s argument is that border security makes Americans complicit in murder.
“The real question, though, is what the hell is Beto O’Rourke talking about? To be fair, it’s not like he’s pretending to know. O’Rourke makes it perfectly clear that he has no idea what he’s saying. And that’s OK. He’s not embarrassed about it,” adds Carlson.
Indeed, O’Rourke knows nothing about what he’s talking about.
He spent his entire Senate campaign building momentum and excitement on the Left by directly avoiding tough policy questions and proposals. His entire persona has been built on being the least substance filled member of Congress.
When the Washington Post, hardly a conservative newspaper, directly asked O’Rourke about what he would do to solve the immigration crisis and how to handle the millions of illegal immigrants who have overstayed their visas, O’Rourke simply replied, “I don’t know”.
This is not the first time O’Rourke stepped in the swamp and got dirty.
Just a few days ago, he insinuated that America doesn’t need to use the Constitution any longer.
Carlson’s editorial touches on all of it, and concludes with a strong rebuke of everything O’Rourke stands for, or refuses to stand for.
“Does any of that still matter? Or are all just those old ideas, stumbling blocks that are preventing people like Beto — good and brilliant people who went to Columbia and have beautiful weekend homes — from getting the power they need to turn this place into a truly awesome country?” Carlson asks.
Do you think O’Rourke lacks substance?
