Donald Trump and his re-election team could be caught by surprise as the President’s campaign to secure a second term ramps up.
That was the surprising news they found out from Fox News.
And that happened when Tucker Carlson issued one warning about 2020 that Trump hated to hear.
Polls show Donald Trump’s re-election prospects brightening.
Prediction markets and some election forecasters install the President as a favorite to win four more years in the White House.
During a recent broadcast of his Fox News show, Tucker Carlson addressed this confidence in Donald Trump winning re-election.
“Republicans are starting to think that victory is assured, and that’s a mistake,” Carlson began. “America remains as divided as it was three years ago… Trump could lose. Will he lose? Well, that depends entirely what he runs on.”
Donald Trump is expected to make the historic economic boom the centerpiece of his argument that voters should reward him with a second term.
But Carlson said polls showed not all Americans believed they benefited from the Trump economy.
“In that survey, 56 percent of Americans said the economy was excellent or good. And that’s good news. But then there was this: only 31 percent said the economy was helping them and their families. Just 32 percent thought the current economy was helping the middle class. 58 percent thought the opposite. Among lower-income Republicans, 47 percent said economic conditions were hurting them,” Carlson continued.
This is due to fake news media outlets trying to censor good economic news and trying to talk Americans into thinking they are on the verge of a recession.
Carlson cautioned that socialist Senator Bernie Sanders would be an appealing candidate if he wins the Democrat Party nomination because Sanders is promising to address voters’ anxieties with “free” stuff paid for by tax increases on “wealthy” Americans.
“Bernie Sanders may get the Democratic nomination. And if he does, every Republican in Washington will spend the next ten months reminding you that socialism does not work and never has. And they’ll be right, obviously. But if Sanders pledges to forgive student loans, he will still win many thousands of voters who went for Donald Trump last time. Why? Because debt is crushing an entire generation of Americans. Republicans need to make a plan to make it better, or they will be left behind,” Carlson concluded.
Many in Donald Trump’s political orbit believe Sanders would be the prime candidate they would like to run against.
Trump’s allies believe Sanders’ socialist scheme to ban private health insurance and take away 180 million Americans’ health care renders him unelectable.
But Tucker Carlson is warning that Sanders could appeal to the undercurrents of economic anxiety that many Americans feel and that Donald Trump spoke to in 2016.
Carlson’s cautioned that if Trump wants to win a second term the President should stick to the populist and conservative agenda that got him elected in the first place.
