The Black Lives Matter protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death redefined the presidential election.
Donald Trump’s political fate may be determined based on how the public judges his handling of this crisis.
But Tucker Carlson pointed out one fact about Black Lives Matter that Trump never knew.
There is little doubt the political momentum belongs to Black Lives Matter and the left-leaning mobs in the streets.
Democrats are trying to co-opt the masses taking over American cities in hopes they will turn out in November.
Many Republicans in Washington think they can peel off a slice of the protestors by accepting the left’s terms of debate surrounding alleged systemic racism in American policing.
Tucker Carlson called out Republicans for their silence on the matter.
In a viral monologue, Carlson said Black Lives Matter was the most popular and powerful political party in America.
Carlson drew a distinction between a statement of fact – that black lives matter because everyone’s lives matter – and the political ideology the protestors are pushing.
“Black Lives Matter doesn’t make legal arguments. They are not trying to convince you of anything. Black Lives Matter believes in force. They flood the streets with angry, young people who break things and they hurt anyone who gets in the way. When they want something, they take it,” Carlson began.
Carlson called out elected Republicans for not pushing back against the political positions Black Lives Matter holds and that one reason the Black Lives Matter political movement gained in strength was it faced no opposition.
“Our leaders are happy to talk about everything but the collapse of the centuries old civilization tumbling down around them. They have no idea how little credibility they have. They have no sense of how irrelevant they have become. If you can’t tell the truth when the truth actually matters, then nothing you say matters. Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter becomes more powerful and more popular with the public,” Carlson added.
Carlson warned Donald Trump and other Republicans that the Black Lives Matter activists out protesting were not in the streets to make a point nor could they be appeased with half measures.
The popular Fox News host told his audience – which often times includes President Trump – that Black Lives Matter acquired real political power over the last several weeks.
“That’s not bluffing, it’s not posturing, it’s not tweeting; that is real power,” Carlson said. “Make them mad and they will set your business on fire. Annoy them and they will occupy your downtown and declare a brand-new country,” Carlson added.
As evidence, the group’s call to defund the police is gaining currency in the Democrat Party grassroots.
Rising stars such as Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are the leading voices now supporting defunding the police.
Democrat-run cities such as New York and Los Angeles saw their mayors announce city government would slash the budgets for law enforcement and move the money to community outreach programs.
