Every leftist institution in America is united against President Trump.
No matter what he tries to do, they refuse to do anything but make his life harder.
And two major colleges just took things a step further by announcing a racist plan to defy Trump.
Many people believe that institutional racism is dead in America.
But they would be wrong.
On college campuses all across the country, applicants are denied due to their race.
They are denied because of so-called “affirmative action” policies which allow colleges to racially discriminate in their admissions process.
A college that uses affirmative action in admissions may accept a less qualified African American student over a more qualified Asian student because Asians are generally more represented on college campuses than African American students.
This is why President Donald Trump has come out opposed to affirmative action.
His administration has come out so strongly against affirmative action that his Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, sent a letter to a number of universities requesting that they stop using the practice in admissions.
While DeVos’ letter was not an order, it did state that if they continue to use affirmative action practices in admissions that their federal funding will be put at risk.
In response to this letter, both Yale and Harvard University came out making it clear that they will continue to factor race into their admissions process.
This could mean trouble for the two Ivy League universities.
While both Yale and Harvard are private universities, they do enjoy federal funding, to the tune of over $1 billion a year between the two of them.
That is a huge chunk of change that many have already argued they don’t deserve.
But if they are going to deny a request from the federal government, while receiving massive amounts of money from the federal government, it would only make sense that they should lose that funding.
Harvard and Yale either don’t understand that, or don’t care.
After the letter was sent to the university, a Harvard spokesman responded by asserting that Harvard will continue to “vigorously defend its right” to consider race as a factor in admissions.
That statement is Harvard’s loud and proud way of saying that they will racially discriminate.
And that Harvard has done.
Outside of the direct effects of affirmative action, Harvard has been caught discriminating against Asian students.
Asian students overwhelmingly score higher on testing, and are generally seen as the best students on paper.
So in order to knock those students down a notch, university staff gave Asian students low personal ratings, even in cases where the university had not met with the student they are giving a low rating to.
It is kind of difficult to judge someone’s personality without first meeting them.
That is why it is necessary for the government to step in and stop these cases of discrimination.
President Trump is using his authority as president to make it clear that these practices are not okay.
If the universities choose not to listen, he has every right to strip their federal funds.
Do you agree with President Trump’s strategy to end affirmative action?
