Even three years into his Presidency, Donald Trump is still under attack from leaker and rogue operatives.
And now the President may be facing his most serious crisis.
But this whistleblower could be the key to bringing down Barack Obama’s Deep State.
The fake news media and many Democrats buzzed about a report in the Washington Post that a whistleblower filed a complaint with intelligence community Inspector General Michael Atkinson.
The Washington Post exclusively reports:
“Trump’s interaction with the foreign leader included a ‘promise’ that was regarded as so troubling that it prompted an official in the U.S. intelligence community to file a formal whistleblower complaint with the inspector general for the intelligence community, said the former officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
“It was not immediately clear which foreign leader Trump was speaking with or what he pledged to deliver, but his direct involvement in the matter has not been previously disclosed. It raises new questions about the president’s handling of sensitive information and may further strain his relationship with U.S. spy agencies. One former official said the communication was a phone call.”
For some strange reason, Atkinson labeled the complaint “urgent and compelling” which means under normal circumstances the inspector general forwards the complaint to Congress.
But the deep state operative filed the complaint about a series of phone calls and incidents involving the President and other foreign leaders.
Those situations are not covered under this law and acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire refused to turn the complaint over to Congressional Democrats, citing the fact that this was a White House matter.
And the law does back up the administration on this point.
The New York Times reports, “Under the law, the complaint has to concern the existence of an intelligence activity that violates the law, rules or regulations, or otherwise amounts to mismanagement, waste, abuse or a danger to public safety. But a conversation between two foreign leaders is not itself an intelligence activity.”
The President also possesses broad and absolute power to declassify information as he sees fit.
Donald Trump also called the story fake and questioned the motivations behind this alleged whistleblower.
“Another Fake News story out there – It never ends! Virtually anytime I speak on the phone to a foreign leader, I understand that there may be many people listening from various U.S. agencies, not to mention those from the other country itself. No problem!” the President added, “Knowing all of this, is anybody dumb enough to believe that I would say something inappropriate with a foreign leader while on such a potentially ‘heavily populated’ call. I would only do what is right anyway, and only do good for the USA!”
Whatever the President did or did not say, it is not covered under the law requiring credible complaints of mishandling classified information be turned over to Congress.
The only way to get this complaint out into the open could be for the whistleblower to leak his complaint and violate the law.
A criminal prosecution would give investigators the chance to determine if this seditious deep state henchman was acting on his own or if he was part of previous deep state criminal leak schemes.
