Democrats are on a warpath against Attorney General William Barr.
They are furious he refused to break the law by releasing the full, unredacted Mueller report.
But through it all, Democrats just admitted one fact that left William Barr grinning from ear to ear.
House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler is leading the effort against William Barr.
He and his Democrat cronies are out for blood and want nothing more than to remove him from his position or throw him in jail.
That’s why they voted to hold him in contempt of Congress, in an unprecedented move.
It is unprecedented because Barr did absolutely nothing wrong.
His job was to report the findings of Robert Mueller’s report into Russia collusion.
He did just that, and in doing so makes clear that Trump did not collude with Russians to win the 2016 election.
And along with that, he included a number of redactions in the report, which he explains the exact reasons for.
The main reason for the redactions is that he would be violating the law in releasing it without them.
So calling for a contempt vote is simply a way for the Democrats to attack Barr for following the law.
Along with calls for contempt, they are attempting to negotiate with the Department of Justice to gain materials they are wanting their hands on.
The Department of Justice is more than happy to negotiate, but they simply want the Democrats to stop threatening to hold Barr in contempt, a move that can result in his jail time.
But through setting up these negotiations, the Department of Justice revealed a shocking fact about what Democrats themselves admit about a slew of subpoenas they have been filing.
The DOJ contends that the Democrats privately admitted that their subpoenas are “overbroad.”
This means that the Democrats know full well that they are reaching further than they should.
It seems as though they are simply trying to gain as much information about President Trump and his Administration through their subpoenas as possible when they purport to simply be trying to gather select information.
This is creating a rift in the already poor relationship between the House Judiciary Committee and the DOJ.
Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd blasted Nadler in a letter.
“The department was disappointed by the committee’s abrupt termination of ongoing negotiations aimed at reaching a reasonable accommodation that respects both sides’ legitimate interests regarding the materials sought,” Boyd wrote to Nadler. “Further, the department is disappointed by news reports indicating that Democratic leaders have scheduled a contempt vote in the House of Representatives for June 11, 2019.”
Nadler fired back at Boyd, claiming that the House Judiciary Committee has always been reasonable.
“I … take exception to your characterization of how our prior accommodation efforts ended,” Nadler wrote. “Contrary to the account in your letter, the Committee has always remained open to continuing negotiations. We had an offer on the table late on the evening of May 7 when the Department suddenly declared an end to the accommodation process.”
In the end, the House Judiciary Committee isn’t serious about any of their investigations, and are simply desperate to latch onto anything they can to harass President Trump.
