The cat is out of the bag on Obamagate.
A criminal investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax is closing in on some of Barack Obama’s closest allies.
William Barr made one decision about jailing former President Barack Obama that put jaws on the ground.
Attorney General William Barr upset the applecart in the Washington swamp when he tapped United States Attorney John Durham to investigate the FBI’s basis for launching “Operation Crossfire Hurricane” – the Russian collusion investigation – on July 31, 2016.
But no one was prepared for the day last October when word leaked out that Durham was now pursuing a criminal investigation into the matter.
President Trump repeatedly stated that Obamagate – the Obama administration and FBI fabricating the Russian collusion hoax to frame Trump – was the biggest crime in American political history.
The scandal took a huge turn when acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell declassified the list of Obama administration officials that unmasked Lt. General Michael Flynn.
Former Vice President Joe Biden’s name was on the list which immediately raised questions as to Biden’s involvement in the failed coup attempt to overthrow Donald Trump.
President Trump reacted to the news by expressing gratitude that Grenell and Barr made progress in uncovering the truth about Obamagate.
“People should be going to jail for this stuff,” the President added, “This was all Obama. This was all Biden. These people were corrupt. The whole thing was corrupt. And we caught them. We caught them.”
Attorney General Barr addressed the recent developments at a press conference where he said Obama and Biden were not the targets of a criminal investigation, but that United States Attorney Durham did have some Obama allies in his sights.
“As to President Obama and Vice President Biden, whatever their level of involvement, based on the information I have today, I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Attorney General Barr explained. “Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.”
Attorney General Barr said the Justice Department would reverse the trend set by the Obama administration where Obama’s allies in the intelligence community and FBI fabricated a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia in order to investigate Obama’s political opponents.
“This is not good for our political life and it’s not good for the criminal justice system,” Attorney General Barr continued. “As long as I’m attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends. This is especially true for the upcoming elections in November.”
How will Trump supporters take the news that, at the moment, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are not the focus of a criminal investigation?
Will John Durham bring charges against other big fish like James Comey, Peter Strzok or John Brennan?
After all the hype, it would register as a serious letdown for Durham to bring no charges or only indict low-level FBI employees and ignore the ring leaders at the top.
