If there’s one thing Republicans have learned, it’s that attacking President Trump is not a good idea.
But some elected officials didn’t get the memo.
A “Republican” Senator decided to criticize President Trump, but with just three tweets from the President, his political career could be coming to an end.
President Trump is known for taking to twitter to go after his political enemies.
When Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) decided to criticize the President over his expectations on Obamacare, Trump went on twitter to rebuke those criticisms.
Senator Mitch McConnell said I had "excessive expectations," but I don't think so. After 7 years of hearing Repeal & Replace, why not done?

Can you believe that Mitch McConnell, who has screamed Repeal & Replace for 7 years, couldn't get it done. Must Repeal & Replace ObamaCare!

Mitch, get back to work and put Repeal & Replace, Tax Reform & Cuts and a great Infrastructure Bill on my desk for signing. You can do it!

Now just a few short weeks after that one-sided twitter exchange, McConnell is facing deep trouble in his home state of Kentucky.
A new poll showed that McConnell’s approval rating has plummeted to just 18 percent.
As reported by Breitbart:
“The approval rating of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has plummeted to just 18 percent, a survey from Public Policy Polling has found.
The poll, which surveyed 645 Kentucky voters, found that just 18 percent of respondents approved of McConnell’s current performance, compared to 74 percent who disapproved. Seven percent of people said they were not sure.
McConnell, who is the longest-serving U.S. Senator in Kentucky history, having represented the state since 1984, was recently criticized by President Trump for failing to pass the healthcare reform bill through the Senate.
“Can you believe that Mitch McConnell who has screamed Repeal & Replace for 7 years, couldn’t get it done,” Trump wrote on Twitter earlier this month. “Mitch, get back to work and put Repeal & Replace, Tax Reform & Cuts and a great Infrastructure Bill on my desk for signing.”
When asked if there were an election for the U.S. Senate today, whether they would vote for McConnell or his Democratic opponent, just 37 percent of respondents said they would support McConnell, compared to 44 percent who said they would vote Democrat. He is next up for re-election in 2020.”
It is not a good idea to get into a feud with the President when he is more popular in your own state.
President Trump has a 60 percent approval rate in Kentucky, and crushed Hillary Clinton 62.5% to her 32.7%.
It is clear this is bad news for McConnell, who is losing the confidence of Republicans following the inaction by the Republican majority Senate on Trump’s agenda.
Do you think this is the end of Mitch McConnell?
