Fox News viewers were left speechless.
They tuned in to Fox to watch Donald Trump deliver a major speech that could set the tone for the rest of the 2020 presidential election.
And you won’t believe why Fox News took Donald Trump off the air.
Donald Trump staged an event in the Rose Garden to highlight his administration’s historic achievement in rolling back regulations.
The President also took the time to compare his success in unleashing the American economy to the disastrous record of the Obama-Biden administration.
During the course of his remarks, President Trump blasted the Obama-Biden administration for overseeing the worst economic recovery since World War 2 due in large part to the administration weighing down the economy with job-killing regulations.
But Fox News cut away from the President’s remarks so Trump-hating anchor Neil Cavuto could “fact-check” the President in real time.
Fake news CNN and MSNBC do this all the time to “add context” to the President’s remarks.
What this means is that what President Trump is saying is true, but the fake news doesn’t like it so they add “context” to the President’s remarks which come in the form of rebutting them with Democrat Party talking points.
And that is exactly what Cavuto did.
Cavuto complained that the President blasted the Obama-Biden administration for imposing job-killing regulations like the Paris Global Warming accords and instead claimed that what the President said wasn’t true because some of the Obama-Biden regulations dealt with financial institutions lending practices following the financial collapse.
Neil Cavuto did not dispute that Obama and Biden choked off economic growth with regulations, but he instead complained that Trump did not say only some of the regulations dragged down the economy.
“I do want to clarify a couple of things he said, that no president in history has cut regulations as much as he has. That is true. I think he might have mischaracterized the regulations that were added under Barack Obama — they were largely financial related. You might recall we had this little thing called the financial meltdown, and much of those regulations were geared to preventing banks from ever investing in things like risky mortgage securities, pooling them, selling them off,” Cavuto ranted.
Cavuto then nitpicked President Trump’s claim that the economy under Barack Obama was a disaster even though wages were flat, more Americans ended up on food stamps when Obama took office and the recovery was the worst in 70 years.
“The unemployment rate did, under Barack Obama, go down from a high of 10% to around 4.7%. President Trump, of course, sent that even lower, eventually getting us down to a 3.5% unemployment rate. But I didn’t want to leave you with the impression that during those eight years when Obama first came into office, and we were bleeding about a million jobs a month that that was standard fare and that characterized the whole eight years,” Cavuto added.
Cavuto then editorialized by praising Barack Obama’s economic record as a golden age for American companies and workers.
“It was not a disaster under Barack Obama. Not only did the Dow essentially triple during his tenure, but whether you want to call the increase regulations and other things that police financial companies, as a bane to our existence, those companies did very well. Americans did very, very well. So I just want to put that in some context here,” Cavuto concluded.
Americans expect Democrat talking points disguised as news from fake news hacks at CNN and MSNBC.
But they expect fair and balanced coverage from Fox.
