Jen Psaki’s come under heavy criticism for her performance as White House press secretary.
But now all hell is breaking loose.
Jen Psaki never thought she would get called out for what she just tried to get away with.
The biggest political headache for Joe Biden is the crisis at the southern border.
Biden invited the flood of illegal aliens pouring into the country by rolling back Donald Trump’s immigration policies and creating new magnets for illegal migration.
In the month of March, the Border Patrol intercepted 172,000 illegal aliens trying to cross into America.
Multiple media outlets interviewed illegal aliens who specifically cited Joe Biden as the reason they tried to sneak into America.
Yet despite that truth, Jen Psaki tried to blame the surge of illegal aliens accepting Joe Biden’s invitation to rush the border on Donald Trump.
“After four years of an immigration system rooted in destructive and chaotic policies, President Biden is taking the challenge head on and is building a fair, orderly and humane immigration system,” Psaki told reporters at the White House press briefing. “That’s our objective. After coming into office, our administration immediately jumped into action to address the influx of migrants at the border – something that began during and was exacerbated by the Trump administration.”
Psaki then pivoted and tried to mislead Americans into thinking the administration brought the crush of illegal alien children kept in cages under control.
“And wanted to provide a couple of data, pieces of data you may have seen, but they’ve come out since the last time we had a briefing in here,” Psaki stated.
Psaki claimed the 5,000 kids in cages had been reduced to 600 to spin the reality of the situation and fool the American people into thinking the administration reduced the number of illegal alien children coming across the border to a trickle.
That is not the case.
A record 22,000 illegal alien children are in the custody of Health and Human Services.
What the Biden administration is doing is accelerating the process of catch and release and calling that progress.
In reality, this will just create another wave of illegal alien children trying to complete the dangerous march from Central America to the United States as parents will judge that the risk of shipping their kids off with smugglers is outweighed by the likelihood Biden will not enforce the border and will turn their kids loose into America to link up with other family members.
The situation at the border is a disaster of Joe Biden’s own making.
And as Psaki’s briefing showed, the administration has no plan to bring this calamity to a close.
