Joe Biden weaponized every agency in the federal government to target his political opponents.
Other than the FBI and Department of Justice the IRS is the most frighteningly powerful domestic agency.
And what Joe Biden authorized the IRS to do will terrify every American.
Democrats included $80 million to hire tens of thousands of new IRS agents in the Green New Deal bill Joe Biden signed into law last year.
Joe Biden claimed hiring new IRS agents would reduce the deficit by stepping up enforcement against Americans that did not pay their taxes.
Biden promised the new IRS enforcement agents would only audit Americans making more than $400,000 a year.
Now it’s time for the IRS to begin to make use of that new funding and even members of the corporate media know Biden is lying.
CNBC’s “Last Call” host Brian Sullivan called out Biden for this blatant falsehood in an interview with New York Republican Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis.
“I know there’s been a lot of media that’s been like, they’re going to hire 87,000 agents, no, they’re not. But it doesn’t seem possible that there’s no way this doesn’t also raise audits on middle-class people,” Sullivan asked Malliotakis.
Malliotakis agreed noting that 90 percent of audits target Americans making less than $400,000 per year.
“Absolutely. Secretary Yellen came before our Ways and Means Committee last month and she basically said that the percentage would remain the same across the board. And that means that 90% of the audits will be for those under $400,000 a year. So, that is really what we’ve been saying all along, that this was going to increase the audits for the middle class. And President Biden keeps talking about those earning over 400,000, but the fact is, it’s 90% that [are] below 400,000 that are being audited. Now, he’s trying to basically pay down our debt by shaking down the middle class, really trying to find every single penny that he possibly can from hard-working Americans,” Malliotakis stated.
Last year the Congressional Budget Office reported that at least $20 billion in revenue would come from audits hitting Americans making less than $400,000 per year.
The Treasury Department even tacitly admitted this was the case.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was late issuing a report on how the IRS would spend the new $80 billion in funding.
When Yellen finally issued the spending plan it danced around spelling out exactly how many new enforcement agents the IRS plans to hire.
The Biden administration is keeping this information under wraps for one reason and one reason only.
And that’s because the administration knows the new IRS agents targeting Americans who make less than $400,000 a year is where the money is.
