With the 2022 midterm elections just weeks away, Democrats are in full panic mode.
They know they’re on the verge of suffering a wipeout election defeat.
And now, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just torched her own party’s midterm chances with four words.
With less than a month to go until the November midterm elections, Democrats are in a horrible position.
The party is suffering in the polls and by nearly all accounts, it looks as if Nancy Pelosi will soon be ousted from her position as speaker of the House.
But while the situation continues to grow worse for Democrats by the day, one of the party’s most vocal leftists isn’t making the situation any better.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just spoke out about the ongoing immigration crisis plaguing large parts of the United States, and in stark contrast to many of her fellow Democrats who are finally backing away from their open borders record after seeing their radical immigration position tarnish them in the polls, AOC is doubling down on her extreme pro-amnesty, pro-open borders positions.
And she’s doing it in a way that will end up alienating both parties at large.
The New York Post reports, “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she’s working with Mayor Adams to apply for more federal housing funds to help the Big Apple address the migrant crisis — but refused to call on President Biden to secure the border and instead welcomed the surge of asylum seekers.”
“So they are working with that application on emergency housing services. We have a housing crisis in this city. There are many ways we need to respond to it,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said during a town hall meeting in the Bronx.
“We are in close communication with the mayor’s office and getting the resources necessary. If some states don’t want to do their job on that, that’s fine. But then those federal resources should come to New York City, and those federal dollars should come to places that want to take care of people, and we need that financial support. We are closely monitoring the situation.”
In just a handful of sentences, AOC not only announced her support for housing more illegal immigrants in New York City, but she demanded that American taxpayers from across the country pay for it.
This comes at a time when Democrats like even the city’s extreme left-wing mayor are finally backpedaling off of their previous vocal support for illegal immigration after states like Florida, Texas, and Arizona began bussing illegal immigrants to New York City.
And across the country, Democrats running in hotly contested swing districts and states are finally voicing their tepid support for more border security as they know that immigration is rapidly becoming a losing issue for them.
But in AOC’s case, she does not seem to have gotten the message.
Not only is she endorsing more illegal immigration into America, she is demanding that taxpayers from across the country foot the bill for New York City’s open borders policies.
