Hollywood stars routinely blast Donald Trump as a racist and plot his defeat in 2020.
A-list actors and entertainers constantly work to one up one another to fire off the most offensive and outrageous attack on President Trump.
And what this black Hollywood star said about Donald Trump will have your jaw in the ground.
Isaiah Washington starred in the hit ABC drama “Grey’s Anatomy”.
Like the vast majority of Hollywood actors, Washington enthusiastically supported Democrats and especially former President Barack Obama.
But in recent months Washington came out in favor of the “Walk Away” movement – social media campaign by frustrated former Democrats announcing that they were “walking away” from the party and supporting President Trump.
“Walking away … is a sacrifice, it’s a risk, and there’s a penalty for it,” Washington said in an interview on Fox Nation, adding that “the reason why I’ve chosen to walk away from the Democratic Party as I know it … is that something doesn’t feel right.”
He added: “I don’t know where I’m going, but I know where I come from. And if I look at the political image of the Democratic Party over the last 50 years of my life since I was 5, and very little has changed for my community, then I have some questions — more than questions.”
Washington expressed those thoughts on Twitter months ago after the Hollywood star explained he worked to support Barack Obama and saw no change in the fortunes of black America.
By comparison – Washington noted – President Trump invited Washington to the White House to celebrate the signing of the “First Step Act” – a signature achievement for President Trump that reformed sentencing guidelines that affected black Americans.
“I voted for 44 twice. I even checked my emails in his Senate Office while lobbying for Salone to be given another chance to rebrand. Not once in 8 years was I given any support regarding Africa or the Black Agenda, but 45 invites me to the WH to celebrate the #FirstStepAct,” Washington tweeted.
In his Fox Nation interview, Washington explained that what politicians accomplished was more important than what they said or looked like.
“I’m going to support the policy over the person,” Washington added.
Washington even said that there are many conservatives and libertarians in Hollywood, but that they are afraid to “come out” and declare their support for the President out of fear of alienating their industry peers.
“You got a lot of conservative or centric libertarian-minded people that really care about other people, but they are terrified to come out of the closet and say anything that’s not in line with the Democratic Party,” Washington added.
In 2016, Donald Trump campaigned on a message to black voters asking what they had to lose.
As Washington confirmed, black voters loyally supported the Democrat Party and saw no return on their allegiance.
By comparison, Donald Trump supported criminal justice reform and his economic book resulted in the lowest black unemployment rate in history.
