Not every musician bends the knee to liberals.
One decided enough was enough and drew a line in the sand.
And this country music superstar took the gloves off in one fight with the woke left.
Aaron Lewis topped the country music charts with his 2021 anti-left protest anthem “Am I the Only One”.
In that song, Lewis railed against left-wing hooligans tearing down historical statues and burning down American cities during the Black Lives Matter riots following George Floyd’s death in 2020.
Lewis sang:
This ain’t the freedom we’ve been fightin’ for
It was somethin’ more, yeah, it was somethin’ more
Am I the only one, willin’ to fight
For my love of the red and white
And the blue, burnin’ on the ground
Another statue comin’ down in a town near you
Lewis’ follow-up album “The Hill” is due out and Lewis told The Spectator that this is an unabashedly political collection of songs that is a poke in the eye to the woke mob trying to force society to conform to their ideology.
“Mob rule is not the United States of America. Period, the end,” Lewis stated. “To the left, it’s either you adhere to our narrative and our objective or you are an outcast. You have no voice to participate. You have no opinion. You’re a deplorable. And you know what? F— you.”
“The Hill” contains the track “Let’s Go Fishing” where Lewis sings about the struggles of working-class Americans crushed under the weight of Joe Biden’s inflation.
“Let’s Go Fishing” includes lyrics lamenting how everyday Americans have “to work two jobs and rob a bank / to put food on the table and gas in your tank.”
Lewis said the point of this album is in-your-face politics.
“I’m not going to try to sugarcoat anything and say that the song’s not political, it’s totally political,” Lewis continued.
Lewis also told The Spectator he knew he got his point across when he knew there was nothing left of his inner beliefs left to share.
“Usually when I walk away from a record going, ‘S— did I say too much? Did I expose too much of my inner workings?’ That’s usually a sign that I wrote a good record and I did what I was supposed to do, which was utilize that opportunity to get some of my innermost, deepest thoughts and feelings out,” Lewis added.
Finally, Lewis explained that the point of this album isn’t to impose his politics on anyone.
Lewis said he believes in freedom and that it goes both ways and that all he is asking is to be left alone to live in peace with his beliefs.
“The album really lays out freedom in both directions,” Lewis stated. “I don’t care what you do. I don’t care how you live your life, that’s your choice. But don’t impose it upon me. I don’t have to agree. That’s taking it too far.”
