From day one of the Trump presidency Adam Schiff positioned himself as the leader of the Democrat and Deep State witch hunts against Donald Trump.
Schiff thought he was on the verge of his crowning moment.
But Adam Schiff’s plan to jail Trump just blew up in his face in this massive way.
Adam Schiff finally got his wish when three Democrat prosecutors filed four criminal indictments containing a total of 91 criminal charges carrying a combined sentence of 727 years in prison against Donald Trump.
Democrats chortled with glee over the fact that Trump could die in a prison cell.
Schiff and 37 other Democrats continued the strategy of waging lawfare against Trump by trying to make sure the only topic of conversation in a Trump-Biden rematch would be Trump’s trials by writing a letter demanding cameras in the courtroom.
“If the public is to fully accept the outcome, it will be vitally important for it to witness, as directly as possible, how the trials are conducted, the strength of the evidence adduced and the credibility of witnesses,” Schiff’s letter read.
While the two federal cases against Trump are unlikely to be televised, Schiff got his wish down in Georgia where the most nakedly partisan prosecution is underway.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ruled Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis’s political persecution of Trump on baseless charges of contesting the 2020 election will be televised and livestreamed on social media.
“Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee said at a hearing on allowing cameras in the courtroom that the proceedings in the case will also be livestreamed on the court’s YouTube channel.” NBC’s report continued. “Cameras are permitted in Georgia court proceedings with a judge’s approval.”
“The Sept. 6 arraignment of defendants in the Georgia case, for example, will be televised. Trump and several other defendants have decided to waive their appearances for arraignment, however, and have entered pleas of not guilty,” NBC also reported.
But televising Trump’s trial could backfire on Schiff and the Democrats.
The case in Fulton County is legally weak and constitutionally dubious.
Willis criminalized free speech, normal election challenges and taking advice from lawyers on how to contest an election.
Publicizing this case already boomeranged on Democrats.
Willis forced Trump to take a mug shot in the hopes that the image would brand Trump a criminal and render him unelectable.
Instead, the mug shot galvanized Trump’s support.
The Trump campaign raised $10 million in the 72 hours after Trump posted the mug shot on social media.
And a Wall Street Journal poll taken almost entirely in the wake of the mug shot shows Donald Trump leading Joe Biden.
In this case the weaponization of the government against Donald Trump is on trial just as much as Trump is.
The attention this case attracted already strengthened Trump’s fundraising and position in the polls.
A televised trial may not be the political boon Democrats think it is.
