Special counsel Robert Mueller thought he was on the verge of obtaining the smoking gun that would lead to Donald Trump’s impeachment.
But then everything changed.
That’s because Mueller just made one resignation announcement that left President Trump speechless.
Robert Mueller staffed his office with the angriest and most partisan Democrats he could find.
His chief deputy was former Justice Department prosecutor Andrew Weissman.
Weissman was a Hillary Clinton lackey and attended her election night 2016 victory party.
Weissman also handled the fake news Christopher Steele dossier when he was with the Department of Justice.
As Mueller’s top attack dog, he drove the theory that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians during the 2016 election.
But now Weissman is out.
He is resigning from the special counsel’s office and will take a law school teaching position in the fall.
“Andrew Weissmann will be concluding his detail to the Special Counsel’s Office in the near future,” Mueller spokesman Peter Carr wrote in an email to Fox News.
Anti-Trump “reporters” in the fake news media were furious.
When Mueller announced he wasn’t quite ready to sentence Paul Manafort deputy, Rick Gates, because he was still cooperating in ongoing investigations, the left-wing media clung to the idea that Mueller might still turn up evidence of Russia collusion.
But Weissman’s resignation popped that balloon.
It is the clearest sign yet that Mueller is finishing up his probe.
Weissman’s resignation also means there is little chance Mueller will produce any last minute “surprise” indictments of Trump associates for conspiring with the Russians on the alleged cyber attacks during the 2016 election.
Weissman slinking off into academia means Mueller failed.
The “legendary” prosecutor – who had an unlimited budget and access to the top talent in the Democrat legal world – only proved one thing: that the allegations that Trump and his campaign colluded with Russia were a hoax.
And that is what President Trump has said from day one.
But fake news media reporters, Democrats, and Never-Trump Republicans could not wrap their minds around that simple fact because they refused to accept that Donald Trump legitimately won the election.
Their hatred for Donald Trump blinded them to the reality that the Russia collusion allegations were the result of a fake news dossier bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign and the Democrat National Committee.
Weissman’s resignation also means Mueller will be submitting his report to Attorney General William Barr any moment now.
There will then be a massive fight about how much to make public.
Trump supporters believe Mueller will camouflage the fact that he turned up no evidence of collusion with all sorts of hysterical language and damning charges that he ultimately could not prove.
The Mueller report was never intended to be an honest account of Mueller’s findings.
It was always supposed to be an impeachment document.
And Democrats are counting on Mueller to provide them with something – anything – they can latch onto in their witch hunt to impeach President Trump.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
