The political environment keeps getting worse for Democrats.
And the bottom is nowhere in sight.
That became clear when Nancy Pelosi learned devastating news that will bring Democrats to their knees.
A shocking ABC/Washington Post poll found Republicans holding a 10-point lead over Democrats on the question of which party Americans wanted to see in control of Congress.
This represented the largest lead for Republicans in the 40 years ABC and the Washington Post asked this question.
“As things stand, if the midterm elections were today, 51 percent of registered voters say they’d support the Republican candidate in their congressional district, 41 percent the Democrat,” an ABC press release announcing the poll’s findings read. “That’s the biggest lead for the Republicans in 110 ABC/Post polls to ask this question since November 1981. Indeed, it’s only the second time the GOP has held a statistically significant advantage (the other was +7 points in January 2002) and the ninth time it’s held any numerical edge at all.”
When Republicans picked up 63 seats in the House of Representatives during the historic Tea Party wave election of 2010, the final ABC/Washington Post poll in October found Republicans holding a four-point lead over Democrats.
Republicans leading in the generic ballot is rare – ABC reported it’s only happened nine times in the history of their poll.
What’s even rarer is Republicans leading this early.
In October 2009, Democrats held a 51 to 39 percent lead over Republicans on which party the public wanted to see controlling Congress.
Joe Biden poisoned the political well for Democrats.
Biden campaigned on “crushing” the coronavirus.
Instead, Biden’s imposed new vaccine and mask mandates leaving America in a state of permanent pandemic.
Biden sold himself to voters as being able to restore competence to government.
But the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan due to Biden’s poor planning led to the deaths of 13 U.S. troops and hundreds of American citizens stranded in Taliban-controlled territory.
Finally, Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar socialist spending bills created new inflationary pressures that contributed to prices rising by 6.2 percent in October – the biggest jump in 30 years.
The economy is always the number one issue in every election and every publicly available poll shows Americans hold a negative view of Joe Biden’s handling of the economy.
Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy predicted the GOP could win more seats next November than the party won in 2010.
If that turns out to be the case, that would mean Republicans broke the record for the largest midterm election win in American history.
No president ever saw their political standing erode in a shorter period of time than Joe Biden.
And Joe Biden’s collapsing poll numbers could mean the end of the Democrat majority in the House of Representatives.
