Former Vice President Mike Pence is on the warpath against Donald Trump.
Pence is about to launch a presidential campaign and is desperate for attention.
And you won’t believe why Donald Trump is under attack from Mike Pence.
Mike Pence is clearly looking to run for president in the establishment Republican lane.
To win the backing of the establishment donor class Pence is leaning heavily into his support for the Mitt Romney/Liz Cheney foreign policy on Joe Biden’s war in Ukraine.
Fox News host Martha MacCallum gave Pence a platform to make this pitch by asking Pence to respond to comments Donald Trump made to Tucker Carlson about how Joe Biden threatened American national security by depleting the American arsenal in Ukraine.
“We don’t have any ammunition. We’ve given it to Ukraine. We’re not prepared to fight. I rebuilt our military, new planes, new tanks, new everything. They’ve taken the military that I’ve rebuilt and they’ve given it all to Ukraine. I mean, massive amounts,” Trump told Carlson.
Pence responded with rhetoric right out of a Liz Cheney speech about how it is the United States’ responsibility to act as the policemen of the world.
“Martha, look, the United States is the leader of the free world. We’re the arsenal of democracy. Ukraine is not our war, but freedom is our fight,” Pence responded.
Pence then falsely claimed America is participating in a war with Russia in Ukraine to prevent having to fend off a Russian invasion of the U.S.
There is also little danger of the Russian army trying to advance beyond Ukraine.
Russia’s military proved to be a paper tiger and the plans to conquer Ukraine collapsed within 72 hours — long before American weapons arrived — as the dilapidated Red Army lacked the manpower, equipment, experience, and logistics to carry out an invasion of Ukraine, let alone the Baltic states and other Eastern European nations like Poland.
“And I’ve long believed in the Reagan doctrine, which is if you’re willing to fight America’s enemies on your soil, we’ll give you the means to fight them there so we don’t have to fight them here. I think this is an important fight. Look, I’m proud of the historic increase in investments that we made in our national defense during the Trump-Pence administration. But the truth of the matter is, as the former president talks about planes and tanks that we helped build up in our military, we haven’t sent one plane to the Ukrainian military,” Pence added.
Pence ducked Trump’s main complaint with Biden’s reckless war in Ukraine — that it emptied the American weapons stockpiles — by focusing on the fact that America did not send the Ukrainians any fighter planes.
Pence also claimed Biden was not moving fast enough to escalate the war with Russia and that Biden sent Ukraine too little American taxpayer money and weapons.
“We haven’t sent any tanks. Even though the Biden administration promised to send 33 Abrams tanks back in January. I mean, the hard truth is the Biden administration has been slow in responding, slow in providing the support. President Biden said in his State of the Union address, Martha, that we would be there as long as it takes. But look, it shouldn’t take that long. If we’ll give them what they need. They’ve demonstrated their courage, their toughness. I respectfully disagree with the former president on this. I think we’ve got to continue to stand with the courageous military in Ukraine while they reclaim their country and reclaim their sovereignty,” Pence concluded.
But Pence is not telling the truth.
Joe Biden’s war in Russia is leaving America with perilously low levels of shells and long-range missiles.
If Communist China invaded Taiwan the U.S. would run out of long-range missiles within a week thanks to Joe Biden handing over the American arsenal to the Ukrainians.
CBS reports:
And with the U.S. struggling to keep Ukraine supplied in its fight against a decrepit Russian military, there is concern about what could happen if the U.S. were to become involved in a conflict with China. CSIS recently conducted a war game that showed that the U.S. would run out of a key weapon — Long Range Anti Ship Missiles (LRASM) — while trying to stop a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.
“The U.S. ran out of these missiles in the first few days of the war,” Cancian said of the war game.
Mike Pence is now calling for Joe Biden to empty the American weapons stockpiles even faster than Joe Biden is currently doing.
And Pence somehow thinks this line of attack is his path to victory in a GOP primary.
