Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was furious.
Gingrich was not used to this kind of treatment.
And Newt Gingrich just got called one name that you will not believe.
Newt Gingrich was one of the biggest disasters ever as speaker of the House.
Republicans fired Gingrich after a failed midterm election performance in 1998 where Gingrich refused to try and pass a conservative legislative agenda.
After leaving office Gingrich supported Green New Deal-style policies to combat so-called “global warming” as well as the “Hush Rush” law that would allow the government to censor Rush Limbaugh and other conservative media in the name of “fairness.”
Gingrich liked to portray himself as a conservative, but in reality Gingrich was always aligned with the Rockefeller wing of the party establishment.
As a former speaker of the House and certified member of the GOP establishment, Gingrich lashed out at the conservatives refusing to vote for Gingrich’s fellow establishment Republican Kevin McCarthy as the speaker of the House.
In an appearance on Fox News Gingrich slimed the conservatives opposed to McCarthy as “blackmailers.”
“On the votes yesterday, they were losing 202 to 20. And in a healthy, free society, you’d figure a 202 to 20 vote tells you something. But this 20 has gotten together and decided that they cannot only blackmail the Republican conference,” Gingrich ranted. “In effect, they’re blackmailing the American people. Remember, we didn’t get the vote yesterday to repeal the 87,000 IRS agents.”
“So just remember, these blackmailers aren’t just blackmailing the Republican Party. They’re blackmailing the whole country,” Gingrich added.
One of the conservatives opposed to McCarthy was Texas Congressman Chip Roy.
Roy did not take too kindly to Gingrich carrying the establishment’s water and attacking him.
On WMAL’s “O’Connor and Company,” Roy responded to Gingrich blasting Gingrich as a “fossil” who hasn’t been relevant in 25 years.
“If Newt Gingrich wants to pick up the phone and call me, then he might actually know the facts. You might have been speaker 25 years ago, but you don’t know the facts right now and you’re parroting the talking points that are being shoved through the system in this town, that are being fed by the big spending machine that has been driving this country into the ditch,” Roy began.
“I don’t have any time for listening to fossils, sitting on Fox News, making their money on their contracts, coming out and talking about things they don’t know anything about,” Roy added.
Chip Roy is one of the strongest conservative fighters in the House.
Roy led the charge against Mitch McConnell and Joe Biden’s $1.7 trillion socialist spending bill.
In this speaker vote, Roy declared that the GOP must change the rules to stop leadership from steamrolling conservatives on votes to grow government, balloon the national debt, and fund Joe Biden’s radical agenda.
Weeks ago, we saw the Senate GOP led by Mitch McConnell steamroll the American people with a bloated $1.7 TRILLION dollar omnibus

Chip Roy argued he wants to empower conservatives to help set the rules and guide the GOP’s legislative strategy.
Newt Gingrich is defending the system that allows Mitch McConnell and other RINOs to conspire with Democrats to advance and fund the left’s agenda.
