Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is coming after Donald Trump with both barrels blazing.
Willis knows Democrats are counting on her as part of their lawfare against Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
And now Fani Willis made one brutal offer that is tragic news for Donald Trump.
Fani Willis put together a flimsy and clearly politically motivated RICO indictment against Donald Trump and 18 other co-defendants on bogus charges related to contesting the 2020 election.
Prosecutors normally use RICO cases to target organized crime families where the district attorney files charges against everyone in the mob and then flips the gangsters low on the totem pole against the bosses due to the foot soldiers not being able to afford lengthy legal battles.
Willis perverted the Georgia RICO statute to criminalize Donald Trump telling people to watch TV and asking for recounts.
The Fulton County DA has nothing on Trump so she is offering plea deals to the other 18 co-defendants in hopes they will flip and tell Willis whatever she needs to hear so she can convict Trump at trial.
“Fulton County prosecutors are floating plea deals to a number of defendants in the election interference case involving former President Donald Trump, according to people with knowledge of the proposals,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
“At least a handful of the now 18 defendants have received offers from the District Attorney’s office — or prosecutors have touched base with their attorneys to gauge their general interest in striking a deal for a reduced charge in exchange for their cooperation, according to the legal sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive ongoing negotiations,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution also reports.
Willis already saw some success with this strategy.
Bail bondsman Scott Hall pleaded guilty to five minor charges and will avoid prison time in exchange for his testimony against Trump lawyer Sidney Powell over an alleged breach of voting machines in Coffee County, Georgia.
“Under the terms of an agreement with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ office, Hall pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor charges and will be sentenced to five years’ probation, if he abides by the terms of the deal. He also agreed to testify in related court hearings and trials stemming from the sprawling 41-count indictment that was unsealed in August,” NBC News reports.
During the Russia collusion witch hunt Trump associate Roger Stone stated that Mueller’s team offered him a plea deal which Stone rejected because Stone said they wanted him to bear false witness against Donald Trump for colluding with Russia.
In this case, Willis is clearly hoping Trump’s co-defendants will bite when offered a deal that doesn’t include jail time if they will tell Willis whatever she wants to hear about Donald Trump.
