Democrat prosecutors want to put Donald Trump on trial as part of a scheme to meddle in the 2024 presidential election.
But one of the Democrat prosecutors made a big mistake.
And now Donald Trump has one shocking piece of evidence that will prove his innocence.
Fulton County’s Democrat District Attorney, Fani Willis, filed a sprawling and unconstitutional 41-count indictment against Donald Trump and 18 other lawyers, aides and supporters under the state’s RICO statute making wild allegations about a conspiracy to steal the 2020 election.
Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz appeared on Larry Kudlow’s Fox Business show and debunked the case using the centerpiece evidence Willis relied upon in her indictment – the January 2, 2021, phone call between President Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
Willis relied upon Trump saying he needed to “find 11,780 votes” – one more than necessary to reverse Joe Biden’s win – as evidence Trump asked Raffensperger to commit fraud.
“All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won this state, and flipping the state is a great testament to the country,” Trump said. “I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break…It’s just not possible to have lost Georgia. It’s not possible,” Trump said on the call.
Far from damning Trump, Dershowitz explained that the call actually served as the top piece of evidence Trump’s lawyers could cite to prove his innocence.
“If I were a defense lawyer in this case, I would start with that phone call. It’s the most exculpatory piece of evidence,” Dershowitz told Kudlow.
Dershowitz said the word “find” has a very specific meaning and Trump was merely asking Raffensperger to look for votes Trump believed were out there that would show he won Georgia.
As evidence to back up his claim Dershowitz cited the legal work he did for Al Gore in the 2000 recount where Dershowitz and the other lawyers sought to continue recounts until they found the votes they believed existed that would show Gore won Florida and thus the presidency.
“The word ‘find’ has a dictionary meaning. It means they’re there, they’re there to be found. Just please look hard and look for them. That’s what we did in Florida. We thought there were enough votes that could put Gore over the top,” Dershowitz stated.
Dershowitz then closed with a warning about Willis and the Democrats looking to criminalize a political dispute being un-American telling Kudlow that the proper way to deal with Trump, if Democrats do not like his tactics, is to let the people decide at the ballot box.
“There was possibly more that could be done but in any event you don’t make it a crime if it is a matter of degree,” Dershowitz concluded. “You say to people don’t do it next time or you condemn people. You don’t vote for them. That is the ultimate check and balance. Don’t vote for them.”
