Megyn Kelly is one of the biggest stars in conservative media.
But all anyone could talk about was this shocking video.
And what Megyn Kelly got caught on camera doing will blow your mind.
Conservatives roundly praised Megyn Kelly’s performance as the moderator of the fourth GOP presidential debate which was televised by NewsNation.
Kelly and her co-moderators kept the debate moving and asked questions GOP voters actually care about – COVID-19 mandates and vaccines, woke ideology in schools, and the border – while avoiding the hobby horses liberals in the media use to attack GOP presidential candidates.
However, what happened after the debate is all anyone could talk about.
Kelly hosted a post-debate panel with NewsNation politics editor Chris Stirewalt, The Fifth Column podcast’s Michael Moynihan, RealClearPolitics President Tom Bevan, and The Federalist’s Emily Jashinsky.
At one point a hot mic picked up Kelly telling her co-panelists that she wanted to ask Ron DeSantis about “his failure to connect with voters.”
Since entering the race DeSantis’s poll numbers plummeted to the point where the most recent Emerson poll showed him in third place earning just seven percent of the vote and trailing Donald Trump by 57 points.
DeSantis’s plunge in support was attributed in part to his awkward demeanor on the campaign trail where he struggles to make small talk with voters and gets caught in bizarre facial expressions.
But Kelly said she changed her question because asking DeSantis about his rapport with voters would have come off like a personal attack.
“You can’t craft a question like that without being very opinionated,” remarked Kelly. “You know, it’s like me being like ‘You’re not a retail politics person! People don’t like you in the way that you need, yeah you’re lame!” Kelly continued.
Kelly explained she focused on his sinking poll numbers since those are an objective fact.
“You gotta stick to facts and his numbers are just so dreadful,” Kelly added.
As the clip of DeSantis on stage reacting to the question played, one of the panelists snickered at DeSantis again making one of his trademark facial expressions that go viral on social media.
“Look at that face. Looked like you shot his dog,” one of the panelists stated.
DeSantis turned in his best performance in any debate.
The Florida governor scored points by hammering Nikki Haley on her opposition to bills removing woke ideology from the classroom and for defending left-wing corporations like Disney.
A Washington Post/Ipsos poll showed most viewers thought DeSantis won the debate on substance.
However, DeSantis actually lost ground as more voters said they wouldn’t consider voting for him following the debate than any other candidate.
