No one thinks Karine Jean-Pierre is one of the more outstanding White House press secretaries in recent memory.
But Joe Biden doesn’t make her job any easier.
Karine Jean-Pierre pressed the panic button after what Joe Biden got caught doing in public.
At a reception for high-dollar donors in New York City, Joe Biden raised more concerns about his age and cognitive decline when he rambled and repeated the same story twice in a matter of minutes about how he decided to run for president after the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville where a liberal protester died after an alt-right activist ran her down with his car.
“But then along came, in August of 2017, Charlottesville, Virginia,” Biden told the well-heeled crowd. “You remember those folks walking out of the fields literally carrying torches, with Nazi swastikas, holding them forward, singing the same vicious, anti-Semitic bile – the same exact bile – bile that was sung in – in Germany in the early ’30s. And a young woman was killed. A young woman was killed.”
Biden then repeated the debunked “very fine people” hoax where Biden falsely claimed Trump referred to neo-Nazis in attendance as “very fine people.”
“And this was – and I re – you may remember it,” Biden added. “There was a consequential piece of business going on. And the former guy was asked, ‘What do you think would happen?’ He was the sitting president. And he said, ‘I thought there were some very fine people on both sides.’”
In reality, Trump called regular Americans who showed up to protest taking down a statue of Robert E. Lee “very fine people” after Trump repeatedly condemned the neo-Nazis that were at the rally.
After stumbling through some more remarks Biden then aimlessly repeated the 2017 Charlottesville story.
“You know, you may remember that, you know, those folks from Charlottesville, as they came out of the fields and carrying those swastikas, and remember the ones with the torches and the Ku – accompanied by the Ku Klux Klan,” Biden rambled. “And in addition to that, they had – there were white supremacists. Anyway, they were making the big case about how terrible this was. And a young woman was killed in the process.”
“And my predecessor, as I said, was asked what he thought,” Biden stated. “He said, ‘There are some very fine people on both sides.’ Well, that kept ringing in my head.”
A reporter asked Jean-Pierre if there were any worries about the 80-year-old Biden repeating himself without having any clue what he was doing.
This was the last question in the world Jean-Pierre wanted to field because there was no way to answer it honestly.
So, Jean-Pierre chose evasion.
“I think it’s important to note that the president was speaking, as you said, at a fundraiser, and he was speaking from his heart,” Jean-Pierre responded. “He was speaking about why he decided to do this. And you hear the president talk about this, it’s always incredibly emotional for him. He didn’t have to. He went through an incredibly difficult time when he was deciding to jump into the race.”
“He spoke to that passionately, and that is why he is in this because he believes he can help move this country forward in a way that brings it to its best,” Jean-Pierre concluded.
Polls by CNN and the Wall Street Journal show that more than 70 percent of the American people think Joe Biden is too old to serve a second term.
A CBS poll found only 34 percent of Americans expect Joe Biden to complete a second term.
Democrats walk on egg shells every time Joe Biden appears in public because if he falls flat on his face, forgets where he is, or calls out to people who aren’t there it could be the final nail in the coffin that hands Donald Trump the election as such an episode would cement the idea Biden is too mentally and physically feeble to serve as president.
