Karine Jean-Pierre wanted to run and hide.
This was the last question she wanted to deal with.
And Alvin Bragg created one nightmare that left Karine Jean-Pierre a nervous wreck.
A George Soros-funded group called the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed suit in Colorado to kick Trump off the ballot.
CREW argued Trump was ineligible to run for president because Section 3 of the 14th Amendment banned anyone who engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States government from holding office.
“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability,” Section 3 reads.
There are numerous legal issues with this baseless lawsuit, not the least of which is that Trump was never charged by anyone with engaging in insurrection.
Even fanatical Democrat prosecutor Jack Smith didn’t bring that charge against Trump in his indictment.
Washington Examiner White House correspondent Christian Datoc asked Jean-Pierre if Biden had any comment on the case, which went to trial this week.
“Thank you, Karine. Just real quick. How closely, if at all, is the White House tracking this 14th Amendment lawsuit in Colorado?” Datoc wondered.
“I don’t have anything to say about that. I’m not tracking that very closely,” Jean-Pierre answered.
Datoc tried again asking Jean-Pierre if Biden was worried this latest attempt to use lawfare to stop Trump from winning the election would only increase Trump’s support in other states.
“There’s no concern that if former President Trump is taken off the ballot, it might embolden support for him in other states?” Datoc asked.
For a second time, Jean-Pierre ducked the question.
“Look, I’m just going to be really, really careful on anything that is related to ballots, elections, upcoming elections, especially as it — especially as you’re asking me about 2024,” Jean-Pierre replied.
“I’m just not going to comment — certainly not going to comment from this podium from here,” Jean-Pierre continued.
On March 15, Joe Biden led Donald Trump by 1.2 percent in the Real Clear Politics polling average.
Days later news broke that Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg planned to indict Trump.
Bragg followed through in early April unveiling a legally frivolous indictment on the absurd theory Donald Trump falsified business records to cover up a federal campaign finance crime Joe Biden never charged him with.
But Bragg’s indictment broke the seal and Democrat prosecutors Fani Willis and Jack Smith unveiled three more indictments bringing the total number of criminal charges brought against Trump by his political opponents to 91.
However, the American people saw these nonsensical indictments were all a political ploy to interfere in the 2024 election.
The Real Clear Politics polling average currently shows Trump leading Joe Biden by 0.6 percent.
Karine Jean-Pierre understands how the fallout from the lawfare against Trump blew back on Biden.
And that’s why Jean-Pierre wanted nothing to do with this latest attack on democracy by a Soros-funded group to deny the American people their right to vote for the candidate of their choice.
