Joe Biden is in a precarious position politically.
Democrats have completely run out of good options for themselves.
A poll found a majority of voters do not want Joe Biden running for reelection.
The Rasmussen Reports released a survey poll on Friday which found that 56 percent of respondents do not want Biden to run for reelection, while only 32 percent say he would run for a second term, and 12 percent are unsure.
Even Democrats are divided on whether they want the 80-year-old president to run again for a second term, in fact, only 53 percent of Democrats said Biden should run for reelection in 2024. Just 17 percent of Republicans and 26 percent of independents agreed.
On the other hand, 76 percent of Republican respondents feel that Biden should not run for reelection, and 25 percent of Democrat and 51 percent of independent respondents have the same opinion.
The poll found that the numbers for Vice President Kamala Harris are even worse. Only 39 percent of the respondents want her to continue as Biden’s running mate in 2024. In contrast, 48 percent of the respondents said they did not want to see Harris as the running mate, and 13 percent were unsure.
This poll is bad news for Biden as another recent survey, from the Washington Post and ABC News, found that former President Donald Trump has now taken the lead over him. It found that 48 percent of voters would choose Trump in a hypothetical 2024 match-up, while only 45 percent said Biden.
The poll was taken from January 31 to February 2 with 900 respondents, with a three percent margin of error and a 95 percent confidence level.
Biden’s chances of reelection aren’t good according to former Clinton adviser Dick Morris, who said that any chance Biden had at reelection in 2024 had effectively been cut off at the knees on the WABC radio show, “The Cats Roundtable.”
“When Biden as president can’t get more than 25% of the primary vote in his own party, that’s near death. He’s so incredibly vulnerable,” Morris said, adding, “You’d think he’d be at 40% or 50% at the least. That means pretty much anybody that breathes on him can knock him over.”
Morris added that the classified document scandal could prove highly troublesome for Biden, especially if there’s any connection found in them relating to Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian business deals.
“It’s different. Trump took them like mementos, like an ashtray. A letter from Kim Jong-un that he could show people … [Biden’s situation] is directly linked to a big bribery scandal involving the vice president and his son. That’s a whole other situation,” he said.
Morris calculated that the document scandal would “knock Biden out of the race.”
