Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis took the witness stand in a high-stakes moment.
When it was all over Democrats were in a state of disbelief.
And that’s because Fani Willis committed one cardinal sin that left Donald Trump jumping for joy.
Fani Willis testified in a hearing where Judge Scott McAfee would determine if she and her entire office would be disqualified from the 2020 election case in Georgia on conflict-of-interest grounds.
Defense lawyers grilled Willis over allegations she began an affair with Nathan Wade before hiring him as special prosecutor on the Trump case and that Wade then used the money he earned to pay for the couple to go on vacations.
Judge McAfee ruled a motion by Trump co-defendant Michael Roman contained serious enough charges that Willis financially benefited from the Trump case to hear testimony on the matter.
After initially resisting a subpoena to testify, an enraged Willis stormed into the courtroom where she took the witness stand and went into nuclear meltdown mode.
A snarling Willis snapped at the lawyers questioning her as liars and acted so combatively on the witness stand that Judge McAfee threatened to strike her testimony.
The bombshell came when Wade admitted he paid for the two to travel on vacation, but that Willis paid him back in cash.

Willis then took the stand and claimed she kept up to $15,000 in untraceable bills in her home and never used checks.
“When you meet my father, he’s going to tell you as a woman, you should always have — which I don’t have, so don’t tell him that — should have at least six months in cash at all time,” Willis stated. “I don’t know why this old Black man feels like that, but he does.”
The cash payments to Wade are critical.
If Judge McAfee believes Willis paid Wade back then she wasn’t accepting gifts at the taxpayers’ expense from her lover and thus there was no conflict of interest.
But Willis expected the court to believe she used cash to compensate Wade without being able to offer any proof to substantiate her story.
Willis and Wade already ran into a big problem as both submitted documents to the court that their affair began in 2022.
But Willis’ former friend and Fulton County District Attorney Office staffer Robin Yeartie testified that their affair actually began in 2019.
Donald Trump blasted Willis’ testimony as more proof Democrats corrupted the legal system to go after him as an act of election interference.
“There is no case here,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News Digital. “It is so badly tainted. There is no case here. There was a perfect phone call. It was perfect. But by going after Trump, she’s able to get her boyfriend more money than they ever dreamed possible.”
“The case will have to be dropped,” Trump stated. “There’s no way they can have a case. The whole thing was a scam to get money for the boyfriend.”
Critics contend that Willis showed through her testimony that her work as a prosecutor on this case and the charges against Trump are a clown show.
If Judge McAfee disqualifies Willis, the state of Georgia would have to pick a new prosecutor.
And that process could take years assuming anyone even wants to take on this poison pill of a case.
